-- New Platform Built for Molecular Diagnostics
SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif.--Applied BioCode today announced the launch of the new BioCode 2000 system for its 128-plex Magnetic Bead Technology (BMB). The system is already available as an open platform for customized assay development and development of LDT's (Laboratory Developed Tests) using Applied BioCode's proprietary BMB's. The system will be commercially launched at the 29th Clinical Virology Symposium in Daytona Beach April 28-May 1, at booth #107.
The BioCode 2000 is Applied BioCode's second generation multiplexed bead assay reader configured for 96-well micro-plates. In contrast to other flow through multiplex systems the BioCode 2000 does not require any fluids, minimizing hands-on time and instrument maintenance. The BioCode 2000's unparalleled ease of use, combined with its quantitative capability, set a new standard in the market for multiplexed diagnostic testing across a broad range of markets from Molecular Diagnostics to Life Science Research.
"We are very proud of the launch of the new BioCode 2000 as it further enables the utility of our Barcode Magnetic Bead technology in research and molecular diagnostics. In addition, we are making significant progress with our proprietary assay development programs to address the molecular diagnostic customer testing needs," commented Winston Ho, Ph.D., Founder and President of Applied BioCode.
The Applied BioCode's patented BMB assay technology is currently available as an open-architecture platform. Large numbers of biological tests can be conducted and analyzed quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively using BMB's. The platform has been used in a broad range of life sciences research and diagnostics applications to date. The company plans to expand its utility with its own proprietary line of multiplexed molecular diagnostics assays.
