Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co.,Ltd. is a pharmaceutical company. The Japan division manufactures and sells ethical and general use drugs. The North America division manufactures, develops, purchases and sells ethical drugs through its consolidated subsidiaries. The China division manufactures and sells ethical drugs through its consolidated subsidiary. The Other Overseas division is involved in the development of its products in Europe. The Other division is engaged in the manufacture, purchase, sale and supply of food materials and additives, chemical products, veterinary drugs, diagnostic products and inspection services of clinical pathology for animal, the manufacture of extracts, as well as the storage, delivery and clinical inspection of drugs. As of March 31, 2012, the Company had 20 subsidiaries and five associated companies. Yakuji Nippo reported that the Company announced that it has established a new wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore in January 2013
