Headquartered in NJ but with facilities in Ohio, Colorado and Virgina. SciTec provides a wide range of research and development services and fully integrated technical support to the Army, Navy, Air Force, other government agencies, and industrial system development firms.SciTec research focuses on the interrelated areas of physics based modeling, target and background phenomenology, signal processing and custom instrument design. The firm's spiral development approach emphasizes field testing as a means of acquiring essential data, identifying unique phenomenology and to test instrumentation and algorithms. SciTec develops physics models such as flow field and radiative transport models to predict the observables for particular measurement scenarios. These predictions are then used to design custom instruments such as radiometers and spectrometers which SciTec builds, calibrates, and deploys on field tests. In 1989, SciTec had been acquired by TRW. Following acquisition of TRW in 2002 by Northrop Grumman, SciTec reverted to small firm status again.
