Formerly known as TICE Corporation (OTC: TICEOB), Atmospheric Glow Technologies Inc (AGT) had been a science and engineering company focused to solutions to environmental and decontamination applications. On July 2008, Atmospheric Glow Technologies, Inc. went out of business as per its Chapter 7 liquidation filing under bankruptcy. The firm had other legal problems involving unauthorized access to sensitive infrmation. Atmospheric Glow Technologies, Inc. (AGT) had engaged in the research and development of commercial applications for the One Atmosphere Uniform Glow Discharge Plasma (OAUGDP) technology. The OAUGDP is a process of non-thermal, atmospheric pressure processing for use in sterilization, decontamination, surface cleaning, and etching. The company offered TriClean Max, a plasma-enabled portable commercial air purifier that eliminates microorganisms and odor-causing volatile organic compounds from the air stream; and PlasmaGen APR-510-S, which is a laboratory benchtop instrument for DNA preparation from various classes of microorganism, including bacterial endospores. AGTs areas of research include biotechnology to enable preparation of DNA for the detection of disease-causing or spoilage microorganisms, and biological warfare agents; medical technology to sterilize medical equipment and surgical devices; and military decontamination to permit decontamination of materials tainted with biological agents, such as anthrax. The companys research areas also include agricultural decontamination to extend the shelf life of agricultural products by killing microorganisms responsible for spoilage and food borne illness; manufacturing to use OAUGDP as an alternative to conventional batch oriented plasma generation techniques for altering material properties or for cleaning of processing equipment; and aerodynamics to use the characteristics of OAUGDP to alter surface characteristics of aircraft while they are in flight improving aerodynamic response.
