The acquisition significantly enhances GE's capabilities in explosives detection and security technologies. InVision Technologies, Inc. develops, manufactures, markets and supports explosive detection systems for civil aviation security based on advanced computed tomography (CT) technology. InVision's principal subsidiary, Quantum Magnetics, Inc., develops and commercializes patented and proprietary technology for inspection, detection and analysis of explosives and other materials based on quadrupole resonance (QR) technology.
