In July 2007, Biocatalytics was acquired by Codexis, a private biotechnology company and leading developer of clean manufacturing technologies. BioCatalytics, Inc. assists clients towards identifying opportunities for the application of enzymes, and then rapidly develop and implement enzyme-based processes. Enzymes can compete with, and in some cases, can outperform other catalysts, particularly when high specificity and reinforce the existing trend toward the use of enzymatic catalysis, and help companies discover better routes for the production of key chemical products. Our experience in the development and implementation of biocatalytic processes from laboratory to commercial scale is available to serve the needs of customers on a confidential basis.
